Matching Ties Irish Quartet 8/11 & 8/12 Marienthal

Here are some photos taken by Gerd Weigel of our 2 very successful concerts at the church ruins in Kloster Marienthal in the Ahrtal between Bonn and Koblenz, Germany on Sat. 8/11 and (due to good advance ticket sales) a 2nd show on Sun. 8/12/07. The audience was really receptive to our Celtic unit with Colm O'Tuama on Irish flute and tin whistles and Dave Bell on bodhran and percussions. Great job guys.

The bird's eye view from behind the stage gives you an idea of what a unique historical atmosphere this place offers the groups who play here and the audiences who have been enjoying this "Lichterabende" series for some 20 years now. Nestled in the hilly vinyards of the Ahr "valley", this is one of the most picturesque places we've ever played in. A special thanks to Mary-Jo and Friedhelm Pankowski for their great organization and hospitality. The next "Matching Ties" concert(s) here is already in the plans for the summer of 2009.
